A Delicious Connection Beyond Being Alone・Singles-Only Cooking Class - Cuisine - Other Materials

Workshop Description

Wayne’s "Make My Day Cooking Lab" was founded in June 2015, and we settled into our current space in June 2016. We now host an average of 150 events per year. The singles-only cooking course was my very first class, having surpassed 200 sessions over the past decade—I feel like I’m becoming a bit of a relationship coach! In 2021, I launched a new exclusive event: the Singles Collaborative Cooking Class. This course is unique in the market. Beyond the opportunity to meet people, we focus on culinary skills, social interaction, shared dinners, and wine pairing. Each session is strictly capped at 6 men and 6 women—no exceptions. Classes typically last 5 hours: a 1-hour relaxed opening with drinks, 2.5 hours of collaborative cooking and group interaction, and a final 2-hour dinner banquet. My curriculum is designed so that the entire flow—from the cooking process to the shared meal—constitutes a true feast. Having lived in Melbourne, Australia for many years, I often miss the vibrant atmosphere of sharing meals with loved ones during the holidays. I’ve integrated that spirit of passing dishes and sharing food into our dinners, hoping everyone feels the warmth and sincerity of the experience. Regarding the cooking, many men feel nervous, but you can view it as a fresh experience. Cooking is simply a medium for interaction and a way to curate the group; those who choose to take cooking classes typically appreciate the finer aspects of life. The class is structured with roughly 40% group cooking, 40% dining, and 20% social interaction. Even if you don’t meet a romantic match, you’ll walk away with new culinary skills, new friends, and a hearty meal to end your weekend in a relaxed state of mind. Romance isn't something you can decide on your own; the other person accounts for 50%. It comes down to chemistry, conversation, and the emotional spark that happens when you meet. Setting too many criteria in advance is often counterproductive. Focus on enriching your own life, expanding your horizons, and participating in high-quality events to increase your chances of meeting someone special while gaining experience in social interaction. Come join us and connect! 🔹 This course is suitable for you if: + You are stuck in a work environment that makes it hard to meet new people + You are used to being on your own but want to re-enter social circles + You want to boost your relationship experience + You feel uncomfortable at typical matchmaking events + You’ve had poor experiences with dating apps + You aren't sure why you are currently single Why choose us: + A proven event with 3 years and over 90 sessions held + Smooth, engaging flow + Absolutely no awkwardness + High focus on safety + Quality participants + Comfortable atmosphere + Respectful and sincere environment + Dedicated to participant privacy 🔹 Course Disclaimer - For First-Time Participants This is not a typical matchmaking event. We are dedicated to helping singles meet. Aside from specific requirements (age/height) for certain sessions, the organizer cannot control or choose participants based on appearance, clothing, or profession. Our community generally shares these traits: 1. A high standard for quality of life 2. A drive for self-improvement 3. A desire to step out of their comfort zone 4. A busy professional life but a desire to meet new people Past participants have found marriage, long-term partners, and close friends. After your first session, you can join one of five LINE groups to stay connected for future activities. We hope this information helps set expectations before you register. Feel free to contact Wayne or our staff with any questions! ---------------- 【 Course Information 】 🔹 Course Level: Western Cuisine, Beginner to Intermediate (Levels 1-5) 🔹 Collaborative Cooking Guide 1. I studied Art and hold a Master’s degree in Graphic Design from the University of Melbourne. I lived abroad for over 14 years before returning to Taiwan in 2007. While living near the Queen Victoria Market, the abundance of fresh ingredients sparked my interest in cooking. I attended short-term cooking courses and learned home-style dishes from a Sicilian Italian mother. My social nature allowed me to exchange culinary cultures with friends from various countries, which taught me many home-style dishes. Beyond traditional Taiwanese home cooking, I have explored various global cuisines. I have an Australian mindset—I like to study recipes and spices at my own pace, avoid trends, and focus on the dishes I truly enjoy making.
