About the Creation Process: Starting with a sketch, the clay is shaped and then repeatedly dried and refined. We create enough pieces to fill the kiln evenly, a process that takes about a month. Bisque firing takes 7 hours, after which the pieces are removed, wiped with water, and individually glazed before the main firing of 12 hours. Some pieces may receive a gold glaze and be fired again for 7 hours. As they require slow cooling, we wait about two days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Finally, each piece is carefully inspected, and pins are attached to those deemed suitable. Currently, our success rate is around 70%. While this process requires significant time and effort, the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the durability of ceramic, the luster of glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents.
