**|| A Legacy of Three Generations of Grass Fragrance, Weaving Passed Down Through Three Generations ||**
The scent of grass is the scent of home, and the taste of hometown.
Through the intricate local weaving techniques fused with natural fibers, and skills accumulated over time, lines and scents are gently interpreted, creating contemporary everyday straw hat products. This allows historical memories not just to remain in our hearts, but to more tangibly continue in our lives.
"Si Cyuan" is a hat and mat shop from Dajia, Taichung, passed down through three generations, and is also the name of the founder's grandfather.

Taiwan has a rush grass weaving culture spanning nearly three hundred years. Each item is meticulously hand-woven by local grandmothers and aunts, embodying the spirit of Taiwan.
**|| Rush Grass Weaving Process ||**
Growth | 3-4 months of growth
Sun-drying | After harvesting, sun-dried for about 2-4 months until completely dry
Grass Sorting | Sorted by length and partial tips removed
Grass Selection | Average thickness selected before weaving
Removing Leaf Sheaths | Outer leaf sheaths are removed from the grass head
Grass Beating | The structure of the grass is broken to make it soft and easy to weave
For finer items, two additional steps are included: "Grass Splitting" (splitting the triangular rush grass into two to three thinner strands) and "Grass Kneading" (rubbing to remove the white fibers from within the grass).
**|| A Little Story About Taiwanese Rush Grass ||**
Grandmothers and mothers used to say that people would cultivate grass.
They loved the dark, shiny rush grass.
This color usually developed naturally over time with use.
However, some people wanted to speed up the process of achieving that dark, shiny look.
They would specifically wipe the grass with tea water
to deepen its color.
