This is a watercolor sketch depicting a classic "charcoal bus" from around the 1940s, which I encountered in 2011 when I visited the Museum of Transportation Technology in Osaka (now closed) to see steam locomotives.
I was deeply drawn to the beautiful body with its unique long nose, unlike modern vehicles, and decided to capture it.
By using warm, sepia-toned colors, I aimed to express the nostalgic sentiment of the Showa retro period, as if it had stepped out of an old photograph, evoking Japan's vintage history.
