About the Father of Taiwanese Glue Paint – LIN Chih-Chu|
Lin Zhishu (1917-2008) was born in Daya, Taichung, and went to Tokyo, Japan to study at the age of 12. At the age of 24, "Chaoliang" was selected into the "Blessing Exhibition of the Year 2600".
After returning to Taiwan, he won the Governor's Award for Special Selection at the Government Exhibition for two consecutive years, establishing his position in Taiwan's painting circles.
Lin Zhishu devoted his whole life to the creation of glue painting, and proposed the "rectification of the name of glue painting" and worked hard to maintain the art of glue painting. Therefore, he was hailed as the "Father of Taiwan glue painting" by later generations. The representative work "Morning Cool" was designated as an "Important Antiquities" by the Ministry of Culture and is now in the collection of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
Introduction to paintings|
"Feelings"
Paper. Glue color Eastern Gouache on paper|38×46cm
The composition of the picture is concise but not monotonous, and contains ups and downs like music. The white birds are separated at both ends of the bamboo branches. One bird is alone, while the other three are chirping or resting, seeming to guide the subtle flow of the air. The individual birds on the left and the group gathered on the right form a delicate balance, allowing viewers to experience the true emotional meaning.
"Autumn Harvest"
Paper. Glue color Eastern Gouache on paper|38×45cm
The millet is full of fruits, and the tassels are hanging low and bent, swaying east and west with the autumn wind, full of autumn mood, just like the demeanor of a modest gentleman, showing the Confucian philosophy in the painting, the whole painting is intertwined with round curves, forming an overflowing atmosphere. An atmosphere full of vitality of the earth.
