Heavy Ash Deposit 6 Liang Tea Caddy / Tea Canister / Tea Storage Container / Xiao Ping Fan Handmade - Other - Pottery Khaki

Product Description

Some teas, when stored in a good caddy for a while, become smoother and sweeter. Much like life, sometimes it needs time to slowly settle. This 6-liang tea caddy is unglazed and purely wood-fired. After enduring days of high-temperature firewood, natural ash deposits create a jade-green celadon-like luster, exuding a serene beauty. This rare firing effect, when used for storing tea, helps the tea naturally transform, becoming more fragrant with age. Capacity: 6 liang May this unique aesthetic grace your tea ceremonies with every sip, allowing you to experience Xiao Ping Fan's distinctive lifestyle philosophy in your daily life. The creations from Xiao Ping Fan Pottery are not mass-produced. Each piece is born from a unique concept and design, imbued with life through the process of pure hand-building or wheel-throwing. Every item is one-of-a-kind. Our works are created together by my husband and I, hence the "Ping" or "Fan" signature. Larger pieces bear the "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery" seal, making them truly unique! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51567264550_68d52fdae8_b.jpg **1. What is the origin of the materials?** We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51565549867_2d00e9c5fb_b.jpg **2. What is the wood-firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are mixed in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-building (not on a pottery wheel) to slowly form the shape. After basic shaping, the body lines are refined, and then polished to complete the greenware. Once loaded into the kiln, the wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood continues for five days and four nights without interruption. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the pieces, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln flow among the works, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash and fire patterns intertwining, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! Each piece is truly unique! The high-temperature firing of the traditional wood-firing method imbues the pieces with far-infrared effects, making them ideal for storing and aging tea! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51566330016_d46035182e_b.jpg **3. What should customers be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As pieces are purely handmade, they will inevitably bear traces of the hand-crafting process. Minor variations may also occur during the firing process, such as slight imperfections in the rim or minor production scratches, which are considered normal and do not affect usability. We appreciate your understanding!
