Chen Xuan-Heng is a Taiwanese ceramic artist renowned for his wood-fired pottery and his brand "Xuan Tea Ware." He founded the "Zhuo Yun Yue Heng Studio," dedicated to crafting handmade ceramic pieces including tea ware, vases, and incense burners.
Artistic Style and Philosophy
Chen Xuan-Heng's work emphasizes the natural expression of hand movements and brushstrokes, enhanced by diverse textural decorations. The wood-firing process creates rich layers of ash deposits, showcasing a beautiful fusion of nature and human artistry. His "Sea Rhyme Series" tea bowls, inspired by ocean waves, capture the layers and dynamism of the sea.
Beyond ceramics, Chen Xuan-Heng is passionate about self-learning and playing the traditional Okinawan instrument, the "Sanshin." He frequently shares videos of himself playing and singing on social media, demonstrating his love for Okinawan music.
