It was founded in 1947 by Grandpa Guo Xiquan, specializing in products woven from Taiwanese *ling cao* (water sedge). During their time living in New Zealand, the third generation, while interacting with the Māori people and local residents, was captivated by their pride in their culture and the passion with which they spoke about it. This experience inspired a different perspective on life, prompting reflection on their own connection to their hometown and Taiwan. Shortly after returning to Taiwan, they joined the family business and began learning the art of weaving. In 2019, they named the store after their grandfather and opened a branch in Taichung's Shenji New Village, continuing his passionate spirit for weaving. At Xiquan, you'll find the third-generation weaver and her mother, along with a dedicated group of aunts and grandmothers who deeply love weaving. Together, they preserve traditional culture while developing innovative designs. Xiquan's third generation weaves the rich culture of their homeland, carrying on authentic craftsmanship. Their love was opposed by the royal family. The prince and the maiden fled, reaching a place covered in raffia plants. They decided to hold their wedding there. With nothing, the prince wove a bracelet and a ring from raffia for the maiden, making a wish to be forever united with her and to one day return to their homeland. One day, the raffia ring broke. At that moment, two royal guards appeared before them. The old king and queen, having missed their son dearly, had already forgiven them and sent messengers to bring them back to the palace. Thus, raffia is also known as the "wish grass." wwwwwwww **|| How to Care for Your Raffia ||** From growth and harvest to sun-drying and weaving into a finished product, each stage of the raffia's journey involves significant human effort. Wishing you a pleasant experience together. **| Raffia Care** **⊙ Cleaning** Dampen a light-colored towel or a soft-bristled brush with clean water. Gently wipe or brush the affected area locally, and allow it to air dry flat in a well-ventilated space. **⊙ Transporting** Fold the hat in half, centering on the crown. Smooth the brim, then roll the entire hat. Place the pointed crown part inward into the storage bag. When packing in a suitcase, stuff 1-2 clothing items inside the hat to help maintain its shape. **⊙ Storage** Wipe the hat with a lightly dampened cloth to remove dust and dirt.
