The seat is upholstered with 100% washi velvet. Through a special brushing process, each fiber of the velvet rises softly, creating delicate shadows across the surface like fine powdered snow. As the light changes, the texture gently shifts with a calm and subtle expression. At the center, a pig suede belt secured with connecting studs adds structure and contrast to the piece. The lightness of the washi velvet is balanced by the suede band and metal details, creating a refined decorative stool. The circular form is inspired by the Zen concept of “Enso” — a circle without beginning or end. Rather than strongly asserting itself, the stool was designed to quietly exist as a single point within a space. The legs are crafted from cedar wood sourced in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. Their slim and simple silhouette was chosen to balance the softness of the fabric and create a clean overall composition.
