Sir Joseph Austen Chamberlain (1863-1937) was a British statesman.
He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for 45 years, was Chancellor of the Exchequer (twice), and briefly led the Conservative Party before becoming Foreign Secretary.
He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925 for negotiating the Locarno Treaties, which aimed to prevent war between France and Germany.
