Stool celebrates the 10th anniversary of a Japanese forest conservation organization More Trees, founded by a musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. We have engaged in activities with keyword “Connect urban city and forest”, and we put “connection” as a concept of this new product, wishing to bring awareness and offer an opportunity for people to think of forest. It is designed by a collaboration of Jasper Morrison and Wataru Kumano. We believe that they are the perfect designers to embody the concept into product forms. Born in 1959 in London, Jasper Morison is a world renowned designer who designs widely from furniture and architecture to urban space. With his principle “Super Normal”, he has created tirelessly beautiful, simple and universal designs. Wataru Kumano who was born in 1980 in Tokyo, learned woodworking skills and furniture designs in Finland, and was influenced by an affinity of forest blended in Finnish lifestyle.
