Fortran-chang-art's 62nd Watercolor Painting: "The Road to Infinity", Double-Page (780 x 540 mm) with Frame. Painted in May 2024, Taipei, Taiwan.
One of Fortran's favorite pastimes in his youth was road trips. He often said that the focus and freedom experienced while driving allowed one to truly immerse in the scenery, becoming one with the road. This artwork is inspired by his experiences driving in Europe.
On one journey, he drove alone through a magnificent valley. The winding road stretched straight ahead, as if leading one to the ends of the earth. Lined with verdant forests, with towering cliffs and mist overhead, he deeply felt the insignificance of humanity amidst nature, yet also experienced a fearless forward momentum.
Fortran transformed that unforgettable driving memory into a painting, using watercolors to express the clarity of the sky, the solidity of the mountains, and the depth of the road. The straight road in the center of the painting symbolizes not only the journey but also the extension of life—no matter what lies ahead, one must bravely embark on their own "Road to Infinity."
