Lily of the valley is said to have sprung from the tears of the Virgin Mary, and in France, there's a tradition of gifting them to loved ones on May 1st. The flower's meanings, such as "happiness returns," are beautifully passed down through generations. The design captures the natural elegance of lily of the valley in bloom on its stem. This is an acrylic cameo, crafted from acrylic resin. Unlike cameos carved from shell or stone, this piece achieves an exquisite level of detail that would be impossible to capture with traditional carving in such a small area. It's like an illustration from a miniature book. The coloring is reminiscent of Wedgwood's Jasperware (※). (※) A type of pottery adorned with relief decorations often inspired by ancient Greece. The cameo itself is generously sized at 4cm x 3cm. This size allows for a full appreciation of the delicate artistry, down to the finest points.
