They are a form of folk decorative craft made from black iron through intricate processes. The patterns of window grilles have no standardized designs; they are all created based on the artisan's ingenuity. Geometric patterns composed of straight lines or arcs are the most common, making each iron window grille a unique "custom-made" work of art by the craftsman. However, as machine-produced stainless steel windows gradually replaced iron window grilles, their production has largely become a part of history. To recreate these beautiful, handcrafted window grilles, we have employed metal material—copper—and etching techniques, thereby reviving the spirit of the window grille.
