Mong Kok Street Market Qingming River Scenery
The history of Mongkok Open-air Market on Canton Road can be traced back to 1925. It is mainly composed of Canton Road and Nelson Street. It ends at Shantung Street in the east and Shenzhen Street in the west. There are traditional shops located in the old downstairs on the street, and there are hundreds of traditional iron stalls in the middle of the road. There are also restaurants, hair salons, medicine shops and other small shops serving the neighborhood on the street.
Mao Shan, an illustrator who grew up on the streets of Mong Kok when she was a child, went deep into the open-air market in Mong Kok, Canton Road, and created the "Street Market on the River during Qingming Festival" one stroke at a time, reliving her childhood memories, and hoping to discover and record the characteristics of every person and file on the street , showing the unique atmosphere and experience of the open-air market.
