Inspired by Alphaville (1965), an avant-garde sci-fi film, directed by the trailblazer of La Nouvelle Vague, Jean-Luc Godard, The Alphaville Case features the excerpt of Ordre et Désordre de l’Amour, a symbolic poetry by Paul Éluard. The poem is recited in this futuristic detective film when Anna Karina is holding a copy of Capital of Pain. The scene defines the tone of French New Wave in 1960s. Void reenacts this mesmerizing moment by reconstructing the poem in an mindful way as if the stanzas are recited by Karina in front of us, the bystanders. Each word is embossed and arranged particularly on this wheat straw phone case made of sustainable and recyclable material.
