When it comes to films I deeply love, I often find it harder to describe them, because any single moment might be the one that freely moves you. While I enjoy the way the film portrays love, the moments that always touch me most are those between Tim and his father. After his father’s passing, Tim repeatedly travels back just to play table tennis with him. But knowing he can’t go back forever, he eventually returns for one final farewell. His father’s gaze, and that simple walk together along the beach during Tim’s childhood, make it unbearably moving. I cry every single time. I’ve watched this film countless times.
