Occasionally, I come across non-vegetable-tanned leather scraps in the studio. I can't help but pick them up and experiment with them. Chrome-tanned cowhide is the material used by the vast majority of brands on the market. I often tell customers a story, that a great master in our industry once said: Before 1858, leather was almost exclusively tanned using vegetable tannins. Then, during the Industrial Revolution, chromium was introduced into the tanning process, allowing for faster and large-scale production (feel free to correct me). There's no inherent "good" or "bad"; it all depends on how you use or craft it. This bag will primarily be made with chrome-tanned cowhide.
