White clay that evokes a sense of rustic charm and warmth.
This soup bowl is formed into a plump, rounded shape, adorned with small, square "ears."
It's finished with a matte white glaze that imparts a subtle off-white hue.
The slightly shallow and wide form of this soup bowl makes it versatile, ideal for serving soup or as a dish for sharing portions from a hot pot.
It's also well-suited for dishes with flavorful broths, such as agedashi tofu or jibu-ni.
Embrace its Japanese aesthetic by using it for sweets like anmitsu or shiratamazenzai.
We hope you enjoy using it with a variety of dishes.
All stages of creation, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel.
While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a distinct handmade charm.
The item you receive will be identical to the product images. There are currently two items in stock.
As the glaze color and form subtly differ for each piece, detailed descriptions are provided in the final product images.
If multiple items are available, you may select your preferred one.
The base of the bowl will be sanded smooth before shipping.
Please note that each bowl may have a few small bubbles or slight imperfections in the glaze, known as "buku." This is a natural characteristic of the firing process.
I explore various combinations of glazes and clays to create a diverse range of pottery in different colors and shapes.
Each piece is unique, appearing similar but truly one-of-a-kind.
I would be delighted if you find a piece that resonates with you.
May the cozy atmosphere woven by the clay and glaze bring a touch of everyday color to your life.

*Important Notes for Purchase and Use*
- Due to the porous nature of pottery, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to color staining within the glaze or moisture seeping through.
To prevent this, all our pottery undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for a preliminary soaking (mezoma).
This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
If you prefer not to have the waterproofing treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase.
- Cutlery shown in the product images is not included.
- Product images are edited to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
- As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first. We appreciate your understanding.
- While the bowls are generally safe for microwave (for reheating) and dishwasher use, the vibrations from microwaves and high-pressure hot water in dishwashers may accelerate wear over time. We recommend using these appliances sparingly.
- Please refrain from using the bowls in ovens or over direct heat.
- After use, to prevent stains and mold, please wash thoroughly and ensure the bowl is completely dry before storing it in your cupboard.
