Vintage Bavarian "Zwiebelmuster" design lidded pot from the "Echt Kobalt" series made by Winterling.
Seven Winterling brothers founded the Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G. in 1907 with a newly built facility in Röslau, Bavaria for porcelain production. Today, the Winterling brand continues at the Triptis factory of the Eschenbach Porzellan Group.
The Zwiebelmuster (Onion pattern) design was introduced by Meissen in the 1730s. It comprises plants, flowers and fruit from China, specifically bamboo, chrysanthemum, peony and lotus flowers in the wells of plates plus pomegranates, melons, peaches and citrus fruit on their ledges.
