Product Dimensions: Weight: 14g Product Introduction: Indian Mysore Old Mountain Red Sandalwood Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica states: "White sandalwood is pungent and warm, a qi-moving herb; purple sandalwood is salty and cold, a blood-moving herb. White sandalwood can regulate defensive qi and harmonize the spleen and lungs, clearing the chest and diaphragm; purple sandalwood can harmonize vital qi, reduce swelling and dissipate toxins, and treat traumatic injuries." The Essential Interpretation of Materia Medica essentially aligns with the Compendium of Materia Medica regarding the medicinal properties and efficacy of sandalwood. However, it also notes its function in "guiding stomach qi upwards" and suggests that its aroma offers a "refreshing and delightful" effect when used as incense. The Essential Compendium of Materia Medica further mentions its ability to "ward off evil spirits," bestowing upon it the title of "essential herb for regulating qi." "Evil spirits" refer to pathogenic factors such as wind, cold, dampness, and mold. The Compendium of Materia Medica states that sandalwood can treat "cholera, sudden malaise of the heart and abdomen" and can "guide stomach qi upwards, to advance food and drink." The Essential Compendium of Materia Medica also discusses "Inner Teachings." There is a saying that "Inner Teachings" refer to the Buddhist scriptures spoken by Sakyamuni Buddha. Inner Teachings suggest that anointing the body with sandalwood can dispel "heat and afflictions." Wang Ang explains: "Inner desires also are called heat and afflictions." While many incenses may "excite lustful fires," only sandalwood does not. Therefore, Sakyamuni Buddha burned sandalwood incense.
