(3) Toothpaste or baking soda can restore brass's luster. When cleaning, avoid contact with pearls, natural stones, or materials other than brass. The ease of cleaning will vary depending on your wearing and storage habits. (4) After using brass polish or cleaner, rinse thoroughly or apply Vaseline to clean, to prevent direct contact with chemicals. (5) Brass can come into contact with water, but it must be kept dry to prevent verdigris.
