A bracelet crafted from two types of charm beads and 2-3 thousand-year-old medicinal stone ancient beads.
1. Pagoda-style charm beads from a collapsed pagoda in Mandalay, Myanmar.
Excavated from within a collapsed pagoda in Mandalay.
These are bun-shaped pagoda charm beads.
Estimated to be from the 18th-19th century.
2. The two spacer beads on either side are 2-3 thousand-year-old medicinal stone ancient beads.
These medicinal stone beads
have been unearthed in regions including India, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Myanmar.
They were considered precious trade items in ancient times.
3. Fourteen large-sized charm beads from a collapsed pagoda in Mandalay, Myanmar.
Dating is based on artifacts found alongside the pagoda.
The period is estimated to be the 18th-19th century.
These are Daron charm beads in a prayer bead style with drilled holes.
Made from a copper alloy containing gold, though not in a high proportion.
They have been cleaned to remove oxidation patina.
The beads appear bright yellow in photos, but will oxidize and darken again if not polished.
The largest beads have an average diameter of 1.1-1.2 cm.
These prayer bead-style charm beads were typically found in strings of 108 within pagodas.
Due to the humid environment of pagoda burials, original cords have long since oxidized and disintegrated.
During the crafting of Daron charm beads, cinnabar was added and melted together.
Possessing a powerful magnetic field, they are believed to suppress malevolent spirits and other yin energies,
making them excellent protective, barrier-creating, and lucky amulets.
They have also been used for foundational purposes and creating spiritual barriers.
Today, some individuals use them for meditation, placing them in Buddhist altars, or in vehicles to alter feng shui and magnetic fields.
The bracelet measures 19.3 cm in length with an inner diameter of 15.5 cm.
This is a unique sacred object imbued with spiritual energy and blessings.
