The firing temperature range for Azure Clay is wide, resulting in significant color variations. Wood firing imparts a metallic texture and a more purplish hue. <100cc small capacity, enhances tea's aroma; the three-turn spout's S-shaped curve is smooth and flowing.> Produced about one hundred meters west of the north side of Dashuitan in Lishu. The raw ore has a uniform and fine texture, appearing as a dense purple-brown block with a slight reddish translucency. It is brittle and slightly hard, with very few white mica fragments. The surface exhibits a conchoidal fracture pattern and a white waxy luster (which forms white spots after firing). The cross-section is purplish-black with a slight reddish translucency. Historically, because the color of this ore resembled azure dye, it was habitually called "Azure Clay." The matured clay is relatively fine and has good plasticity. During shaping and production, it has a certain sandy texture. The firing temperature range is quite broad, typically around 1160~1210°C, with a shrinkage rate of about 8%. After firing, it appears deep pig liver color, with a fine pear-skin texture on the surface. The clay body is fine, dense, moist, and lustrous, offering a delicate and rich color effect.
