This is a ninja netsuke.
Ninjas, also known as "shinobi," were active from the Sengoku period through to the Edo period.
Ninjas developed mainly in Iga and Koga. Mountain worship was popular, and it is said that the high physical abilities and knowledge acquired by mountain ascetics influenced ninjas. They used special weapons and ninjutsu to deceive enemies and gather information, but many of them trained daily while devoting themselves to their family business. Some weapons are said to have developed from farm tools.
The pendant top is made into a netsuke by threading a pure silk netsuke string through it.
Recommended for those who enjoy Japanese clothing and as a gift.
We will deliver it in a paulownia box.
