Its vibrant green color, derived from trace amounts of chromium and vanadium, exhibits transparent or opaque glassy luster on different facets, accompanied by natural crystal textures. As a calcium-aluminum garnet primarily in green, it is rare and commands a higher price. It was discovered in the Tsavo National Park, bordering Tanzania and Kenya, by geologists in 1967.
