Size: approx. ~55 × 30cm We remade a gorgeous Japanese textile obi to make a vase mat. A mat remade from a Nishijin brocade belt. Nishijin brocade is one of Japan's leading luxury textiles, produced mainly in the Nishijin district of Kyoto City. It has a history of more than 1,200 years and is known worldwide for its exquisite and beautiful patterns and high technology. Various weaving techniques are used and the designs are characterized by gold and silver threads are often used to create a luxurious and delicate finish.
