Introduction to printmaking_
Printmaking is a visual art form produced through printing means, and the process of printmaking has also experienced constant updating and development.

Artist introduction_
Jean-Baptiste Bertrand (1823-1887), French painter and lithographer. In 1844 he enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and in 1857 he had his first Salon exhibition. From 1866 Bertrand devoted himself to allegorical and genre scenes, which differed from his earlier Nazarene style. These are heroic depictions of great heroines in history and literature, such as The Death of Sappho (1867), The Death of Virginie (1869), The Death of Manon Lescaut (1870) 1872) and The Death of Ophelia (1872).
