The Chaika cameras was produced in 1965-1973 years at Belorusskiy Optical and Mechanical Factory (BeLOMO). "Chaika" was space ID of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in the World who made the space voyage. ITEM'S CONDITION: VERY GOOD, TESTED The camera still in good working condition. The VF is clear and sharp, focusing and other functions are easy and nice. The lens is enough clear to provide nice images, even have some minor cleaning marks can be found. The shutter work looks good. I loaded old film and tested film winding and rewinding, all works properly. Cosmetically the camera looks fine for around 50 years age, just examine item's photos, please. All functions are available. TECHNICAL FEATURES * Brand: BelOMO. * Model: Chajka-2 * Frame size 18x24mm, usual type 135 film cassettes, for example 36 frames cassette will provide 72 half-format frames at presented camera. * Shutter speeds are 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 sec and "B". Synchronization with flash at any shutter speed. * The lens is removable, it mounted by the M39 screw, which looks similar with LTM (Leica thread Mount), but You'll can change those lenses between Chika cameras only. The lens will not provide "infinity" focusing at genuine 28.8mm LTM registration because it has 27.5mm registration. The lens was made removable to print photos with enlarger, because most of Soviet 35mm enlargers had M39 lens mount. * Focusing is made with the scale of distances (in meters). * Aperture: from 1:2.8 up to 1:16 (no clicks). * Viewfinder is very simple, sharp and bright. * The special device on the rewind handle (it situated on the bottom plate) helps You to remember film speed, may be installed 16, 32, 65, 130, 250 and 500 Soviet units "rOCT" (it is like ISO and ASA) or equal film speed in DIN or ASA units. * Shutter cocking is blocked with the film winding, all make by one lever. * Frame counter comes to "zero" automatically after opening the back wall for film loading. * Cable release socket. * Tripod mount 1/4". * Dimensions: 55.5x77.5x112 mm. * Weight: 400 gr. * The camera was produced in USSR at BelOMO plant (Belarus).
