Nanbu tekki Gen Kuzumaki's handmade cast iron kettle UTAKATA ARARE 0.8L - Teapots & Teacups - Other Metals Black

Product Description

This tetsubin is handmade by the foundry craftsman Gen Kuzumaki. Each piece is carefully finished using traditional techniques. The entire manufacturing process is made by a foundry craftsman. This tetsubin is decorated with a traditional Nambu tetsuki arare pattern. The arare pattern is inherited today from the ingenious wisdom and intricate design of our ancestors, as it makes the tetsubin thicker and more effective at retaining heat. The picking of a lid is decorated with a hole called "Mushikui" . "Mushikui" gives the piece a withered appearance and a sense of deep richness peculiar to the Japanese, as well as a sense of splendor. The inside is not enamel processed. The boiling water will be mellow. Nanbu ironware is baked using the traditional technique called kama-yaki to produce an oxide layer on the surface. It leads to "rust resistance" and "water quality improvement" and makes tea and coffee taste better. The water boiled in Nanbu iron kettle tastes mellow and sweet even when drunk straight. This is due to the effect of iron leaching into the hot water, but in order for the iron to leach out, the inside cannot be enameled or otherwise treated, and rust is liable to occur.
