Crafted from recycled milk cartons and paper, these paper clay dolls possess a charming, rustic texture.
This is a small Daruma doll, wishing for abundant good fortune to come your way.
The recycled paper is processed into a clay-like consistency, kneaded, and dried. Afterward, washi paper and pulp made from the core material of milk cartons are applied.
Leveraging the inherent strength of paper once dried, the finish resembles that of plaster or ceramic.
Unlike hollow papier-mâché crafts, these paper clay dolls are solid and robustly constructed.
While preserving the pure white color and natural texture of paper, patterns are added using sumi ink and a branding iron.
Each piece is individually kneaded by hand, ensuring that no two are exactly alike. Please understand this unique characteristic.
This doll is not designed to be a roly-poly toy.
