π Please note that all jewelry measurements are taken with a tape measure, and slight discrepancies are normal. Since jewelry is not always perfectly symmetrical, the dimensions provided represent the longest and widest points.
π€ This listing is for one brooch only; other items shown in photos are not included.
π Regarding rhinestone (Rhin) jewelry: Over time, it's inevitable for rhinestones to develop haziness, dullness, or for the metal backing to discolor, which can make the rhinestones appear to have dark spots or look dirty. This is a common characteristic of vintage pieces, even from high-end brands. If these details concern you, we recommend reconsidering antique jewelry with stones.
**Important Notes Before Purchasing:**
π Please send us a message to communicate if you have any questions before buying.
π For jewelry from the 1940s-1980s, it's almost impossible to find pieces without some degree of fading, discoloration, or rust spots. Please understand that minor imperfections are part of their history.
π We strive to present items clearly through photos on the page; please examine them closely.
π Vintage jewelry is inherently aged and will bear marks of its journey through time.
π The styles of jewelry in this shop will not be altered (e.g., clip-on earrings will not be converted to posts).
π If you are new to "Vintage Jewelry," we strongly advise you to think carefully before purchasing.
π If an item arrives damaged and is unwearable, a refund can be issued. However, refunds will not be granted for reasons such as the item not meeting expectations, size discrepancies, color differences, or damage not incurred during transit.
**Brand Story:**
Maurice Bradden founded the D'Orlan company in Toronto, Canada, in 1957. Previously, he had apprenticed under the French jeweler Marcel Boucher, who established Marcel Boucher & Cie in New York City in 1937. Maurice Bradden specialized in producing jewelry and costume jewelry for Boucher. Marcel Boucher passed away in 1966, and his wife, Sandra, took over the company, then located in East Toronto.
In 1979, Boucher became the property of D'Orlan Industries in Toronto, Canada. The jewelry marking was changed to D'Orlan. By the early 1970s, D'Orlan jewelry was successfully sold across North America, Europe, and Japan.
All ornaments from this company were renowned for their high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. D'Orlan jewelers utilized unique design elements, high-quality imitation gemstones, exclusive Austrian crystals and rhinestones, Japanese glass and imitation pearls, and various enamels.
The company launched numerous products under its own brand, replicating Marcel Boucher's designs. Additionally, in 1984, the company established a partnership with Nina Ricci. D'Orlan ceased to exist in 2006.
