Grace of Spring

Zhenkun House was built on a gifted land from the prominent Lin family as a thank to the Huang family. They had served for the Lin family as tenant farmers for generations. Later, in the early years of Japanese rule, one of their female ancestors even took care of Lin’s children as a wet nurse. The Huangs built and decorated Zhenkun House with brightly colorful sculptures and beautiful tiles. This pattern of the tiles depicts an Asiatic apple, which informs that there is always the grace of spring coming after a cold winter, and is a blessing that life is a beautiful season of the spring.
