Fine-grained red clay that develops a deep, rich reddish-brown hue. A matte turquoise glaze that produces a greenish-blue reminiscent of a tropical sea. We have created a medium-sized plate combining these two elements. A medium-sized plate typically measures about 15-18cm in diameter, making it ideal for use as a larger side plate, a single-portion dish, or a dessert plate for cake. While the turquoise is a vivid color, its combination with the red clay imparts an earthy, rustic texture, allowing it to gracefully hold a variety of culinary creations. We invite you to enjoy it with a wide array of ingredients. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the one shown in the product images. The base of the plate has been sanded to ensure it is gentle on your table. Please note that there is a small chip in the glaze on the rim of the vessel. This is a phenomenon that can occur during firing when the glaze is applied thickly and peels or flows away. However, it does not affect usability. We sincerely apologize for this and kindly ask for your understanding. I continue to explore the best combinations of various clays and glazes, creating a diverse range of pottery in both color and form. To prevent this, we treat our tableware with a food-safe sealant before shipping, so there is no need for a preliminary soaking (mezoma). This sealing process requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from the date of your order.
