Royal favorite - Botanic Garden Collection
The Botanic Garden collection, imbued with classic British charm, is the creation of Susan Williams-Ellis, a renowned ceramic designer and the founder of Portmeirion. These delicate and beautiful floral illustrations sparked a new trend in casual dining ware in the 1970s. While new patterns have emerged over time, the classic elegance of the Botanic Garden series continues to capture hearts. The currently offered crystal glassware, adorned with floral engravings, exudes an elegant and unique aesthetic, earning widespread consumer acclaim!

-PORTMEIRION Group-
In 1960, the legendary ceramic designer Susan Williams-Ellis, along with her husband Euan Cooper-Willis, merged two previously acquired pottery companies and factories to establish Portmeirion Potteries. Susan initially designed ceramic gifts for their hometown, Portmeirion Village, at her father's request. As these gifts gained popularity, she acquired the pottery companies and factories, enabling her to design the shapes and patterns of the ceramics herself. The 1970s saw the birth of Susan's most iconic and beloved series – Botanic Garden. Inspired by antique botanical books discovered by chance, the unique and exquisite floral designs of Botanic Garden offered a departure from the formal dinnerware of the era, embracing a more relaxed, home-style aesthetic. Upon its launch, the collection was met with enthusiastic reception worldwide, becoming an enduring classic of British design and remaining one of the most popular tableware designs to this day.
Despite her immense success, Susan remained committed to her vision: creating beautiful, functional, and affordable tableware. She personally oversaw the manufacturing process, upholding Portmeirion's high quality and continuously introducing beloved collections. Though Susan Williams-Ellis passed away in 2007, her lifelong design philosophy – "not only beautiful but also functional and affordable" – will continue to guide Portmeirion forward.
