⊕ Each ruler bookmark is hand-sawn with a No. 6/0 saw blade. Made from brass, the animal silhouettes are vividly rendered. The ruler's surface is blackened and then polished bright, joined to the animal body with a rivet, resulting in a delicate texture. It functions as both a ruler and a bookmark. ⊕ While reading at home, the animal figure can peek out from the pages, as if a little creature is accompanying your reading. If used for a planner or book that needs to be carried out, the entire bookmark can be inserted into the pages, protecting the delicate animal silhouette from bending. "Qi Jia Cuo" is a homophone for "starting a family" in Taiwanese, with the navel representing the origin of life. After graduating from art and design postgraduate programs, we chose to stay in the rural countryside of Tainan, starting our dream in a rented old bungalow. We believe in thinking with our hands, and through the process of crafting, we internalize our passion and ideas for metalwork into our creations, conveying a longing for an ideal life and the warmth of everyday living to the world.
