Inspired by the water lilies (Nympheas) of French Impressionist Monet in the "Orange Garden Museum of Paris".
The water lily is both a monumental and intimate creation, and the pinnacle of Monet's artistic expression.
The wild project of a painter who wants to explore all the light changes in Giverny Gardens, water lilies are displayed in the two oval exhibition halls of the Orangery Museum, inviting visitors to endless contemplation.
After the end of World War I, Monet hoped that his works would have an aesthetic and poetic dimension, and in this way would provide Parisians with a refuge, a place of peace and meditation.
Monet chose Tuileries Garden as his work dedicated to nature and peace, hoping to establish a perfect blend between the water lily work and its exhibition space. The Orangerie Art Gallery is located on the banks of the Seine, hidden on a high platform in the garden, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, providing an environment suitable for contemplation. Since 1927, water lilies have been on display there.
