After two reconstructions, the current station building was officially inaugurated on April 21, 2013. The first floor features a reinforced concrete structure, while the second floor’s wooden construction has become one of the station’s key architectural highlights. Inspired by the historic Alishan wooden train garage, the station incorporated Japanese wooden construction techniques to showcase the strengths of timber and the feasibility of modern wood architecture, presenting a nostalgic Japanese railway aesthetic. In addition to its function as a transportation hub, Zhaoping Station also integrates spaces for art exhibitions and indigenous cultural shops, offering visitors a unique experience of railway culture and artistic ambiance.
