The traditional "hui wen" (回紋) pattern is derived from the meander patterns commonly found on pottery and bronze ware. As thunder and rain nourish all living things, it is considered a continuous symbol of good fortune. Its shape resembles the Chinese character "回" (hui), hence its name. The hui wen pattern has a long history, frequently adorning various artifacts since the Bronze Age. By the Song Dynasty, with advancements in kiln firing techniques, the hui wen pattern became a popular motif on porcelain. Notebook dimensions: 13.5 x 19.5 cm, 1.5 cm thickness. Inner pages will be shipped randomly and cannot be specified. The text will be engraved onto a square piece of cypress wood and embedded in the center of the pattern. Up to 4 Chinese characters can be engraved. Each piece of natural wood varies in color and grain, and the engraved color will also differ. The wood color in the product photos is for reference only; please refer to the actual product received.
