Artwork Introduction:
To commemorate the Paris Olympics, this calendar features a selection of 9 Hong Kong landscape paintings and 3 French landscape paintings. Launching a calendar each year feels like witnessing the fruits of my labor. I am deeply grateful for the efforts of my 2024 self in painting, which allows me, in 2025, to continue this artistic journey. Each piece is a part of my soul, embodying all that I am – my joys and sorrows. When I paint, I pour my entire being into it, offering all I have without reservation. It is my hope that these landscapes, which ignite and move me, will bring endless delight and solace to others.
January: "No Regrets" (Lee Tung Street, also known as Wedding Card Street)
In the vast unknown of life, there is a guiding light, and I will continue on my path.
February: "Nostalgic Hong Kong Gate"
March: "Rainy Day" This is a favorite coffee shop of mine – floor-to-ceiling windows, tatami seating. Sitting by the window, gazing at the scenery, can perhaps heal the melancholy of a rainy day.
April: "Light" (Sai Ying Pun, High Street) Without looking back, without lowering my head; seeing the light, becoming the light.
May: "Courtyard in the Sunlight" The sun has not forgotten to rise, nor has it forgotten me. I, too, will no longer forget life, no longer forget why I live. Every day is a new beginning, filled with fresh desires. Each morning’s awakening marks the start of life and its continuation.
June: "Waiting" (Tsuen Wan) All feelings intertwine, overlap, and eventually settle, revealing a resolute self. Like every moment of choice, I choose what I loved from the beginning, for that is destiny.
July: "Paradise" (Choi Hung Estate x Nam Shan Estate) I mixed my tears into a blue potion, hoping this city will no longer know sorrow.
August: "In the Hedgehog Garden" Everyone is a hedgehog; everyone possesses an inner elegance.
September: "Bauhinia Flower and Le Pure Cafe" This captures Hong Kong's spring alongside a French café.
October: "I'll Find You" (Shakespeare and Company in Paris) At that moment, I forgot the world and myself.
November: "Let It Go" Please say goodbye, let the past drift away.
December: "Wish" (Tung Ping Chau) "If you could have one wish, what would it be?" "I want to be a painter." "Then, pursue it with all your heart!"
