Product Description

Vintage English bone china teacup and saucer from the Old Country Roses series made by Royal Albert. Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name. T he Old Country roses design was introduced in 1962 and is still produced today. The backstamp style was in use in the 1960s and 1970s. It features a Montrose style cup and scalloped saucer. This set is in undamaged, good condition. There is a little wear on the gold tones of both the cup and the saucer. The saucer has some slight surface marks on the glaze.
