Let's go together, through every day, every ordinary day — This wreath brooch is crafted with Czech beads, depicting ginkgo leaves as they shift from lush green in summer towards their golden autumn colors. A charming, three-dimensional cat motif dangles playfully, as if stretching out beneath the trees. While ginkgo trees are often celebrated for their brilliant golden foliage in late autumn and early winter, there's a unique charm in their deep green, layered leaves during the season when they offer cool shade to passersby along city streets. These beads, collected with the intention of one day creating ginkgo leaves, have finally given birth to this piece. The leaves are rendered in a pointillist style, using various shades of green Czech glass with differing translucency and depth. The way pointillism blends colors without dulling them is something I find beautifully suited to the expressive possibilities of beads, a realization that grows with each piece. The spaces between the Czech beads are meticulously filled with Japanese seed beads. Among colors not commonly found in Japan, I discovered the perfect greens to nestle harmoniously. This series is inspired by the thought that if one were a cat, one could wander freely, unburdened by judgment, unbound by time, weaving through narrow paths towards any destination.
