Vintage English bone china teapot from the Old Country Roses series made by Royal Albert.
Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name. The Old Country Roses pattern was released in 1962.
The backstamp on this item was used in the 1960s / 1970s. This pot is in undamaged, good condition with some possible small surface marks and slight wear on the gold only. There is, what appears to be, a small (few mm) glazing production flaw near the spout as well as a very small (1mm) production flaw on the rim, these plates are in undamaged, fairly good condition with some surface marks towards the center and slight wear on the print and gold, the cups are in good condition with slight wear on the gold rim,and the saucers are in fairly good condition with surface marks towards the center and wear on the gold rim to varying degrees.
