DAPENG BAY: 3952 Laoshanyan - A special edition for grand writing, named after a famous Taiwanese landmark. The pen barrel is made of carefully selected golden sandalwood, crafted from natural wood using a special technique for a dazzling, high-definition, high-gloss finish. This finish involves repeatedly applying and polishing transparent lacquer until the pores in the wood grain are completely filled. This process requires dozens of coats of lacquer, ensuring a smoother surface, a more satisfying feel when writing, and a more three-dimensional, clearer display of the exquisite wood grain. This finish also makes the pen easier to maintain, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains, though it comes at a higher cost. Both the high-definition/high-gloss and the standard finishes offer distinct aesthetics, catering to different tastes. Laoshanyan is pleased to offer this pen, and thanks you for your support. The high-definition/high-gloss finish resembles the lustrous sheen of fine wood trim in luxury cars, offering a mirror-like shine and a substantial, tactile feel. Most pens on the market are merely polished or waxed after turning; such elaborate finishing is exceptionally rare. (Natural grain, high-quality random selection). The pen is complemented by fittings crafted from solid brass, finished with a gunmetal electroplating. It features a screw-on, airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip.
The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) two-tone steel nib, expertly handcrafted by Laoshanyan artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing distinct variations in line width, reminiscent of a brushstroke. It offers a responsive writing experience, allowing for nuanced character strokes that express your unique taste.

Hand-tuned Calligraphy Nib Care:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip the nib in ink and allow it to sit for a while before using a converter.
2. If the ink flow is interrupted when using a converter, check the angle at which you hold the nib. Ensure both iridium points make contact with the paper simultaneously; avoid writing with only one side touching. If the ink flow is still interrupted, check the nib for paper fibers or debris.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen directly from the ink bottle to test.
4. Wash the nib. If you write with one iridium point primarily or apply excessive pressure, it can cause misalignment of the iridium points, creating a height difference that can scratch the paper and trap debris in the slit.
5. Calligraphy nibs are created by adjusting an EF nib to have a curved tip. Line variation is achieved through the angle of the pen hold, not by pressing down on the nib. Utilizing the nib's curvature at the tip creates different line widths. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, resulting in finer lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines. Achieving line variation depends on your dexterity and skill.
In response to environmental concerns, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If a gift bag is required for gifting, please specify this in the order remarks after placing your order. Thank you.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing the pen, please do not leave the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: When writing, avoid pressing down on the nib or writing with only one side of the nib (for right-handed users, for example, it is recommended to hold the nib at an angle pointing towards 10 or 11 o'clock). This helps prevent accidental misalignment of the iridium points, which can cause paper scratching and ink flow interruption. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink from clogging and affecting writing quality.
