Combining ancient maps from the Japanese colonial period with modern alleyways, "Yilan Street Walking Map" takes you on a tour of the nearly century-old history of Yilan Old City.
Based on the ancient map published by the Governor's Office in Showa 4, we re-drawn the old town and incorporated today's bustling shops and attractions. Color-coded places not to be missed are displayed on the map, from long queues at old stalls to surprising shops hidden in alleys.
The unpainted buildings retain their previous names, allowing each building to tell its own historical story as before.
Flipping the other side of the map, there is also the topic article of Inthere Yilan Travel Journal Vol.1. It contains various news information about Yilan at that time, as well as two articles carefully compiled by us to introduce Yilan’s bookstore culture and walking tours.
