Ancient Corinth Original Oil Painting: Temple of Apollo, Red Poppy Landscape

Original miniature oil painting, hand painted on cardboard and signed by the artist Elena Anufriyeva (myself). Size: 5x7x0.06 inches (12.5x17.5x0.15 cm). Unframed. An important landmark of Greece standing in the blooming poppy field. Positioned at the nexus of the four-mile-wide isthmus, ancient Corinth held sway over the sole land passage to the Peloponnese. Erected circa 540 B.C., the Temple of Apollo stands as a splendid specimen of Doric architecture. However, due to the region's susceptibility to earthquakes, merely seven of its initial columns endure to this day. Impasto brush strokes have been applied to create this painting - which means laying paint thickly on the canvas, creating a three-dimensional texture. It adds depth and volume, making the artwork more tactile and visually exciting.
