The HONG KONG Tarot - Boxset - Board Games & Toys - Paper

Product Description

The HONG KONG Tarot is a tarot deck created by Errol Yeung & Gooloo Choi. Growing up in Hong Kong, we truly live in an East meets West, multi-cultural environment. Hong Kong people love both Chinese and Western fortune-telling. We thought it will be a great and interesting idea of combining both fortune-telling methods, the Fortune Stick and the Tarot. The tarot deck will be featuring 78 interesting illustrations. We put some of the most commonly seen Gods in Hong Kong into our Tarot deck, like the Bodhisattva, the Buddha, and the Wong Tai Sin. We also put some iconic landmarks of Hong Kong inside our illustration, like IFC, Tai O, and Victoria Harbour. We created new and meaningful items to represent four elements, Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth, they are Brush, Umbrella, Tea Cups, and 2 Dollar Coin. Brush and Umbrella is a very Chinese way to showcase innovation back in the day. Tea Cups and 2 Dollar Coin are specific elements that only you can find in Hong Kong. Each of our elements is telling a story that takes place in one of the areas of Hong Kong, like Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Tai O, Lantau Island, and HK Island Waterfront. Every scenery is deeply related to Hong Kong people's daily life. If you put all the elements together in a row, you can have a clear picture of what the story is telling you. The element deck is created in a long row of the canvas. Fortune telling sticks (Kau chim) will be included in our box set. - "Kau Chim or Kau Cim, also known as Lottery poetry, is a fortune telling practice that originated in China in which the querent (person asking the question) requests answers from a sacred oracle lot. The practice is often performed in a Taoist or Buddhist temple in front of an altar. Kau Chim is often referred to as Chien Tung or Chinese Fortune Sticks by westerners. In the US, a version has been sold since 1915 under the name Chi Chi Sticks. Kau Chim is also sometimes known as "The Oracle of Kuan Yin" in Buddhist traditions." by Wikipedia - Kau Chim is very similar to Tarot, each of the stick represents a peom, which may represent as a picture as well. Fortune teller by reading the peom, telling people what will happen. Each Box set will have: 1 Tarot Deck 1 Fortune Telling Sticks 1 Reading Guide 1 Valvat Bag
