The Czech Republic, a renowned center for glassmaking, boasts the "High Enamel" technique, a traditional decorative painting style applied to fine tableware since the 17th century. It's possible that the House of Habsburg, a royal family with deep ties to the land now known as the Czech Republic, may have cherished tableware adorned with such paintings for their hospitality. You may have encountered pieces featuring flowers depicted with a subtle, raised texture, often combined with ornate gold accents on vases or wine glasses. We have managed to procure these decorative elements, specially applied to beads. The technique requires exceptional skill due to the small canvas and the highly curved surface onto which the designs are painted. The subtle variations in the motif on each individual bead are a testament to their hand-painted nature. With a wish that the art of creating these exquisite beads continues to thrive, we are releasing this piece, a unique creation, hoping it will be seen by as many people as possible. Flowers bloom with a soft elegance against a calm, matte background. The designs differ on the front and back; the reverse side features a single, delicate bud poised to open. This is a double-strand necklace, luxuriously incorporating five of these special beads. The central bead catches the light, revealing a bright, warm brown, reminiscent of Darjeeling tea, often called the champagne of black teas. The two beads on either side, along with smaller, solid-colored beads, are an elegant garnet hue. These smaller beads are, of course, also Czech beads. The garnet-colored beads possess a captivating dynamism; under typical indoor lighting, they exhibit a deep, rose-like hue of reddish-black, similar to a dark red rose (as seen in image 9). However, under diminished light, such as from incandescent bulbs or in bright daylight outdoors, they transform into a vivid red. The shorter strand measures approximately 60cm (including the clasp and adjuster), offering a relaxed and graceful fit.
