I wanted to make a brooch that had a Christmas feel to it, so I thought of a holly brooch. Embroidery thread is made up of six thin strands joined together into a single bundle, from which you can pull out the number of strands you need. The size and thickness can be changed by changing the number of pieces pulled out. It took a lot of trial and error to knit the jagged leaves that are characteristic of holly, and this time, in order to express the delicacy of the leaves, I pulled out a single thread and knitted it by hand.
