These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics crafted by Matsuundō kiln (Shōunzan gama) in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Pottery that is cracked, chipped, or no longer in use is upcycled and adorned with Kintsugi to be reborn as accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and unlock new possibilities.
Deep indigo pottery fragments are paired with black peacock freshwater pearls.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shimmer beautifully from every angle and adding a touch of elegance.
These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: 13 x 15mm
Metal fittings: Surgical stainless steel earrings (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Despite being pottery fragments, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, they make for ideal gifts. Please consider them for a special present for your loved ones.
*As these are finished products and one-of-a-kind, we cannot accept requests for changes to the metal fittings or for remakes.
*We will send the item pictured. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photos.
*Kintsugi is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that mends broken or chipped pottery and porcelain using lacquer and gold powder. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional urushi lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
The Kintsugi parts are made with lacquer (a manufacturer-produced paint, not raw urushi) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
